Text Editing

Edit text, change fonts, colors, and formatting

The Crellus editor makes it easy to edit any text in your pitch deck. Double-click to edit, and use the toolbar to format.

Editing Text Content

Entering Edit Mode

  1. Click on a text element to select it
  2. Double-click to enter text editing mode
  3. The text becomes editable with a cursor
  4. Type to replace or add text

Exiting Edit Mode

  • Click outside - Click anywhere outside the text to save and exit
  • Enter key - Press Enter to save changes
  • Escape key - Press Escape to cancel changes

Text Formatting

When a text element is selected, the top control panel shows formatting options:

Font Size

  • Enter a number in the font size input (8-200px)
  • All selected text will be updated
  • Common sizes: 12px (body), 18px (subheading), 24px+ (heading)

Font Color

  • Click the color picker to choose a text color
  • Enter a hex color code directly
  • Changes apply to all selected text

Text Styles

  • Bold (B) - Toggle bold weight
  • Italic (I) - Toggle italic style
  • Underline (U) - Toggle underline decoration

Adding New Text

To add new text elements:

  1. Open the left sidebar
  2. Click the "Text" tab
  3. Choose a text style:
    • Text Box - Basic text element
    • Heading - Large, bold text (32px)
    • Subheading - Medium, semibold text (24px)
    • Body - Standard body text (14px)
  4. Click to insert the text at the center of the current page
  5. Drag to position and double-click to edit

Using Document Fonts

The Text panel also shows fonts used in your document:

  • Browse the font library to see all fonts in your deck
  • Search fonts by name
  • Click a font to insert a text element using that font's styles

Tip: Use fonts from the font library to maintain consistency with your template's typography.

Text Positioning

Moving Text

  • Click and drag text elements to move them
  • Alignment guides help with positioning
  • Text snaps to page edges and other elements

Resizing Text Boxes

  • Select the text element
  • Drag the resize handles to adjust the text box size
  • Text will reflow within the new boundaries

Best Practices

  • Keep text concise and scannable
  • Use consistent font sizes throughout the deck
  • Maintain high contrast between text and background
  • Use bold sparingly for emphasis
  • Align text consistently (left, center, or right)

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Double-click - Enter text editing mode
  • Enter - Save text changes
  • Escape - Cancel text changes
  • Cmd/Ctrl+C - Copy selected text element
  • Cmd/Ctrl+V - Paste copied text element
  • Delete - Delete selected text element
